“I’m here if you need a chat”, and “it’s not weak to speak up about your problems” - your right, all this stuff is great... but it’s just words. We need actions
Yeah, I think with this one sometimes the person who needs the help hears it more as "if you absolutely have to talk to me, you can" and this is part of why they think they are bothering people. I don't know what the solution is but I think we should replace that response with something more along the lines of "do you want to talk about it and I'll just sit here and listen?"
100%! And as I wrote, we need to do more as a collective rather than just judging everyone to professionals. That pathway is slow, expensive and not always what people need
I will be thinking of you, while listening to some tunes at Spilt Milk :) (I am no joke still recovering from Wednesdays 6km run and it's now Sunday hahaha)
I'm, hoping to be finished well before Spilt Milk starts! Hoping!
Yeah, whatever we do the least seems to be what hurts the most huh? I find the humidity makes it so much harder to recover. That's why I'm going to do it in Canberra early in the morning. Way too humid down here and I've got a thing to go to down there that arvo anyway.
“What I do know is, we’re not going to get answers without asking questions” - spot on. Gotta reduce the friction.

I don’t like bothering “busy” people because I assume they don’t have the time to listen. Too many busy people = a society that can’t help others

People need the people around them to slow down and be present
Yeah, set time aside solely for connection.
You mad man! I'm hoping to join a crew in Brisbane for 30km 🙌 too close to my 100km to do the full 60 like you 😂
Haha, hardly, mate. a couple of laps around a flat lake is nothing compared to 100k up mountains. It's the least I could (try to) do.
