I've been thinking about my next post and it was something along the lines of what you've discussed. Women and Men are facing different but equally impactful situations. Women = conditioned to be "good" people pleasers, Men = conditioned to have no emotion. Both require immense patience and understanding to work through.
Mate, the thing that popped out of this one for me was the notion of getting better at comprehending our emotions.
It's one of the things that makes me think writing is so important in the pursuit of a suicide-free society; the practice of putting our thoughts onto paper, understanding that each time we do it, we're getting better at it.
And we can put these processes in place earlier on with our children, to prepare them to handle the ambiguities of life.
Yeah, I think having that curiosity about why am I feeling this way and what does it actually mean. Why can’t I fix it? Why do I keep trying to fix it with methods I know don’t work? How do I find a better way etc. The more people consider things like the above the closer they will get to the true answers. Jet ski’s don’t cure depression, etc.
I was thinking about my writing the other day and that all it really is is me compiling a bunch of ideas into one document to help me understand them better. Then when I share them hopefully it helps others understand the same thing because it’s relatable. But to your point, the process helps us understand and organise our views so well. It truly is an under-utilised tool that more people should embrace for their own benefit primarily.
The more of the above we do for ourselves, the clearer our own understanding of it becomes, the clearer we can articulate these messages on to others, namely our children.

Love that. Why me? Why not me!
Why not indeed
