I've never heard of these leaps, but I think my kids seem to be doing fine. Also, kids are bloody clever at getting their parents wrapped around their little finger and getting them to do whatever they want.
Yeah, I think they're more designed for parents to understand what's going on when their kids are going through changes. They're not really about changing anything you do, more just understanding what they are going through and why they might be behaving in a certain way. helps you to not freak about what's going on.
Yeah, neither had I! Haha. But it makes plenty of sense. They develop and learn so much so quickly that it’s just as overwhelming and scary as it is exciting.
We know the next stage of his development is walking on his own, seems so simple to us, but he doesn’t know what the fuck walking even is. It’s awesome watching them learn and try new things then get all excited when the risk is rewarded.
I recently read Raising Compassionate and Resilient Children by Lael Stone and Marion Rose, it does a great job of explaining how to help kids manage their emotions and sit with their feelings. You are likely trying to distract him from his feelings because that's what you learned as a child. It's never easy to listen to your child cry so we try and distract them and make them "feel better"
unfortunately not haha. Both the authors post some pretty helpful content on their socials. Like everything, you take and apply what you think will work for you but it was the understanding that really helped me the most.
Every time to you say "I have low self esteem" you are labelling yourself in that way and reducing the chances you will ever overcome it.

I've never heard of the leaps either. I just fricken love watching my niece learn new things everyday and become her own person <3 <3
My absolute favourite thing to do is watch him try to figure things out. Like when he's curious to figure out how things happen.
PS... watch out when he starts walking bhahahaha. he's gonna be sneaking up on you more than ever hahaha
He’s so bloody close. His body is already capable I reckon, just need his brain to figure it out.
I’m as excited as I am nervous about it.
I'd never heard of the leap before, but looking into it makes so much sense! Love these updates on the little chunky.

It's not on audible, dammit!
