Shitty things are going to happen to us. We need to stop trying to avoid them and learn to deal with them better instead so we can learn, grow and improve.

Being good at receiving feedback is ultimate short cut to improving. For a long time people wouldn’t me feedback but they knew I would get upset. Slowed my progress.
Yeah, I've always had this bullshit irrational fear that one bad meal will make me fat, one missed run will make me unfit or send me spiraling into a depression. Even though I know it's stupid and makes no sense it's still difficult to get past that sometimes.
Yeah, 100%. Gotta see it as an opportunity to get better. Once you can do that your rate of improvement has to improve.
