Running rare by Tim Fulton is an inspiring blog about Tim's life with Still's Disease. I don't know if Tim sleeps because he doesn't stop. He works with Rare Diseases Aus, raises money and awareness by setting himself running challenges and is open about the impact a rare disease has on his mental health. Incredible for a bloke with a debilitating rare disease. You can't read one of Tim's blogs and not walk away hugely inspired. Read It!
R4R is a community running group founded by Matt Breen, inspired by his fathers suicide. They believe one of the best things you can do for your mental health is to get out and exercise with mates. Matt also writes brilliantly about all things mental health. He has a great knack of tackling the most serious topics while leaving readers motivated, inspired and feeling positive. His courage and openness around his fathers suicide and mothers illness is hugely inspiring. Read it!
After meeting Benny I realized he is very much an every day bloke, that just happened to have a pretty cool job. Benny played Rugby Union at the highest level, representing Australia and playing for the ACT Brumbies Super Rugby franchise. 'Struggling' isn't your typical retired athlete adjusting to life post-career though. Benny's vulnerability is refreshing and thought provoking. It's also very engaging and often his replies in the comments section are as good as the blog. Read it.
